Emperor Nathan, While Gralus and Natopia traded somewhat, unfortunately other nations did not pick up on the system. A slightly more refined and simpler version is now in the process of being adopted by such nations as Novatainia, Batavie, Shireroth, Craitland, and hopefully many more. Knowing your previous interest in trading, I was sure you would like to hear about it too. I've built a website explaining it all, and would be delighted to do up another resource trading sheet for Natopia, similiar to this one done for Batavie. I hope you find this system both easier to understand and use, and one that you would like to join in. The beauty of it, this time, is that once you've got trading sorted, you can just leave it and tweak it slightly when you expand - instead of having to renegotiate each month like the last system. Yours sincerely, Andreas the Wise. PS: Eagerly awaiting your return in Novatainia to formalise a treaty.

In fact, I'll approach you now. Novatainia would love to buy 20 or 40 units of Cotton from you, and 30 units of Spice and of Silver. Later we may also be interested in Cattle or Semi-Precious Stones. We're willing to pay fair market value for these items - say 16 for the Cotton, 11 for the Spice and 13 for the Silver?
If you're also interested in trading with Shireroth (I'm Treasurer there) we'll put in a significant Cotton order too.

Sounds fine to me, except that we don't have silver I am interested in trading with Shireroth. We need building materials and metals from either Nova or Shireroth. we need at least 30 timber, 15 stone, 15 iron, 30 pack animals. that will get us to level 3, if im correct :/

I think we (Nova) can sell you all of them ... *checks* Yep. The "Desired Trading" tab on our sheet (made just by duplicating the sheet, then buying/selling exactly perfectly) shows what we're willing to sell/buy, and our max/min price.
And you're right ... saw Silver next to the Alexandrian land and must have mistaken it for yours ... oops.

Er ... you never could. And you can. At the same time.
That is, I never had a bartering system, there were always prices. And, at the same time, you could just agree with the other nation to price said resource at 0 and swap the equivalent amount for another resource, also priced at 0. As for pricing system - choose something you think is fair. I made a system, but that was just my attempt to provide a starting point. Really, the market should work and settle on some basic prices ....

i dont know what is fair because i dont know how the currency is valued. i also dont see a "desired "trading" tab on your google doc sheet. :/ How did you determine the fair market value for the goods we are trading to you?

How about if we increased Iron to 10 and Pack Animals to 6 (the numbers for things we sell are meant to be the minimum we'll sell for) and it's a deal.

No need. We just agree to trade. So you're buying at that price - the stuff I wanted is fine? If so, I'll make the changes on the sheet and then its official ...
