My dearest greetings to Nathan (once again) of Natopia, citizens of Athlon, and to Natopia in general.
Sorry for the delay, I meant to be here the day the forum came out but being on holiday meant I didn't have the link to my micronational email I use for forums that was bookmarked, and then the computer with it in favourites crashed and .... Anyway, I'm here now, and that's the important thing.
With regard to your comments when leaving Gralus, Nathan, I'm here to propose the formulation of a new treaty, far closer than the recognition one we had earlier. Also, I feel it would be prudent in this to joyfully return to Natopian control all those units of space equipment which, with your permission, we annexed in your absence.
Looking forward to working with Natopia as a soverign nation, Andreas the Wise

Welcome Andreas! As far as the the treaty was concerned, I was thinking of nothing less than a treaty of alliance The reason I joined Gralus, as I said, was because it was one of the few entities that does not annoy me... and I hope an alliance between Gralus and Natopia will become a force to be reckoned with in Micras. *evil grin* And thank you for the return of our spacefleet, I had nearly forgot about it, hehe

Nathan, a solid alliance was exactly what I had in mind. A force to be reckoned with indeed! (and maybe we can bring some of our Shirithian friends along ... now THAT would be scary ...) I recall you having a standard one before - do you want to use that, or us to get our standard out - they're probably similiar ...

Oh my... SPEAR all over again (minus antica and attera plus gralus tho)! I like it Our standard is a bit bare bones:

I was thinking something with a bit more military help ... wait, now I reread the last paragraph, that's sorta what it means ... Could we change it to this: "BELIEVING that should one nation be attacked, or any brother of our nations be unduly persecuted, both nations agree that an armed attack or threat against one of them shall be considered an attack or threat against both, except where this conflicts with a previous treaty of either party." which is our standard. Of course I hope we shouldn't need to use the last clause, but it's a last safety net, in case, say, both our leaders change and there's some terrible incident in international diplomacy we can't forsee and we end up fighting ... So we almost certainly won't use it The only thing I can see in our standard treaty that isn't in this (assuming basic recognition stuff were in our last treaty) is trade ... which can be done anyway. If you want to check our treaty instead (since I'm not sure if the previous Nova-Nat treaty is standing with you restarting and we joining the federation) www.novatainia.org/gralan/forum/viewtopic.php?t=115But basically both are the same, worded differently ... EDIT: SPEAR's nothing to do with the one Yvain mentioned in the Scavenger hunt, is it?

How about we use your standard treaty, since it just looks nicer, lol, but add on the military bit you just said.
And I don't know if Natopia will operate an economy this time around... we never could make it work...
Oh, SPEAR, Skiron Pact for Economic and Armed Reinforcement, was an alliance organization between Natopia, Shireroth, Antica and Attera that was created as a counterbalance to the Grand Commonwealth. Needless to say, it tanked due to a minor (read: major) diplomatic crisis and ended up going public without Shireroth's membership and eventually collapsed without its leadership.

Ouch ... Ok, our standard with military: Obviously I have to get this approved by the Triumvirate, as you know, but that shouldn't take long ... We can drop a clause if you don't like it, but most of them don't mean a great deal, just look good in the treaty (like the trading one - we've never actually acted on it ) SPEAR sounds interesting, but yeah, without Shireroth I can see you'd have some troubles ... unfortunately there is no clear GC to fight anymore ....

I have approval via other means from Lachlan and Bayen (site still down) so consider it signed ... They'll be along with signatures later ....

Wonderful! If you're interested, since you have a military training program and all, our Minister for Defence (North) could arrange some sort of friendly match, so you have a couple more people to fight with ... only if it interests you. I'll leave any more on the matter to him.
