For some reason, I clicked to modify the original post instead of posting a new reply. I hit submit and realized it when it was too late, so I presume that the original post is lost... :-(

I can confirm Tom's assurances. The Britannic base was established in South Mehlville to deter Babkhan advances only. Now that South Mehlvy affairs are under the authority of Natopia I can personally assure that no forces out of any Natopian territory will used aggressively against Alexandrian possessions.

From the desk of His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor of AlexandriaPalace of Wesloderia, Geneva, Baudrix To His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor and His Excellency, the Foreign Minister of Natopia: Your Excellency, We understand that the Britannic garrison is strictly for the deterring of attack from Babkha, but We can assure you - it might even work to agitate them more. Having a Britannic presence in your lands in South Mehlville will cause the Babhkans to be more concerned as to the regional security of their territory, much like We are concerned about the security of the patrimony Leon-Venetian Islands off the coast of Eura. The Britannic Empire has been a catalyst for unwarranted and unnecessary aggression for quite some time now. Our fears are that their presence will not only aggravate the problem, but it will earn special concerns from Our Government in Geneva. Your Imperial Majesty, Our Government welcomes your assurances greatly. However, we still find ourselves concerned for the presence of Britannic troops in th area, given said nation's history of creating and triggering conflicts that are unwarranted and unnecessary. My impression is that the situation in South Mehlville is being used by the Government of the Britannic Empire as a pawn in the grander scheme of the rivalry between Britannia and Babkha. Sincerely, Edgardvs-Imperator-Alexandrinvs.

Your Majesty (Edgard), In this situation i would refer you to Article 2, section 2a, of the Treaty of Witham Point which reads Therefore we would be required to request the permision of Natopia if we wished to assault Alexandrian lands from the base, which we don't, and therefore in terms of that base we are restricted by whatever treaties Natopia has with Alexandria. I can assure you the Britannic Empire has no ill-feelings towards the Empire of Alexandrians, even if vice versa it isn't true, and therefore we won't be using the base for any anti-Alexandrian activities etc etc.
