Borders City is the city of Klaasiya's future. As such, it is important that it embraces all the technology it can to ensure a secure future. To this end I announce the beginning of a programme to research into two special initiatives. The first is a desalinisation plant for the city. This will not only safeguard the water needs of the city, but also ensure a constant supply of salt for the possibly booming bagel chip industry - reducing dependence on foreign salt mines. The second is a study into the viability of tidal power generation in the straights separating this Barony from Lochhatonia.

Fascinating. The Imperial government fully endorses these programs.

Recent progress on the desalinisation plant
There has been some noteworthy progress. In addition to providing the possibility of tidal power, the large current through the straights [do they have a name???] is looking like a positive influence on the desalinisation prospect's future. Not only will the tides provide the power needed to fuel the plant, but also promise to rescue the project in light of recent economic developments. Hopes to minimise excessive post-plant salinisation of the straights have been shot in the head. The plan to avoid vastly increasing the salt content of nearby waters basically involved using the salt from extracted seawater to season bagel crisps. However, the bottom of the potato chip market has dropped into oblivion with the baronial push for bagel chips. The fallout from this is that the demand for salt has remained reasonably stable in Klaasiya, rendering salt extraction economically inviable. Luckily the huge movements of water look like they will be able to disperse the brine adequately.

Good to hear of progress in Borders City That strait has no name on the MCS map. I guess it could be called Borders Strait.
