The Floating Islands Pact
We, the undersigned, respecting and admiring the history of Jasonia and the Micron race, and holding the lands most sacred to these, do agree to the following, to ensure the legacy of Jasonia will never be forgotten, but also that the glorious memory of the past will not abused:
We understand the Floating Islands of Jasonia and the Micron islands of Ferien and Ptia are the common heritage of all the peoples of Micras who are openminded about other races, and should not be greedily held by a select few. Anyone wishing to conduct archaeological research for historical purposes will be free to conduct it in these islands, as long as they apply to the nation controlling the land first.
We also understand that the Flying Islands of Jasonia are no more, and it is not our place to recreate that nation. Thus we swear that though we may have antigravity generators, we will never again lift the islands of Jasonia into the sky, nor will we tarnish the memory of them by attempting to revive their ancient culture. Instead, we will respect and research their history, but leave past life in the past.
We recognise that several nations control these islands. We will allow free and unrestricted travel between these islands so that all may enjoy their heritage without having constant border checks.
We are wary of those who would use the technology of the Jasonians or Microns for selfish or destructive purposes, and so we will not allow any Jasonian technology to be used or examined by non-signatory nations for military purposes. Further, any non-military technology excavated may not be removed from the islands by citizens of non-signatory nations, but must be examined and kept on the islands.
We endeavour to recognise and display the great history and culture of the civilisations which have occupied these lands before us. Thus we will establish a Jasonian Museum in Sai’Pôr, by the site of the old Jasonian Palace, to freely display for all that ancient culture, and likewise to establish a Solorian Temple-Museum on Ptia to pay tribute to the Solorian faith, and display the culture of the Menelmecarians.
Finally, we establish our commitment to the preservation of Jasonian and Micron history by agreeing that, should one signatory nation fall, the signatory land they hold shall be given to/claimed by the other signatory parties so that this Floating Islands Pact may be continued for all time.
