Greetings from the Antican Commonwealth

Antica and Natopia have had a good relationship over many years. With Shireroth, we formed SNARL, which has become the basis for all Micras-based recwars today. When Antica experienced its darkest hour in the aftermath of the Tgaoth attack, Natopia was there to extend its hand in friendship.

But during the past couple of years, that friendship has been allowed to wither, in no small part thanks to Antica's shift into isolation and inactivity, which we Anticans still struggle to break out of.

As Archon of the Antican Commonwealth, I come here today so that we may be able to reform that friendship.

I do hope we can reform a friendship that once stood to threaten all of Micras with its mightiness! I look forward to it. Any specific ideas?

I'd like to welcome you as well, Archon. I welcome you to stay in the Vista de Nada palace while on your diplomatic mission here in Natopia. ;D

Ummm... None specifically. I was hoping that you might have some ideas.

The most obvious action, it would seem, is the negotiation and ratification of a new treaty which would affirm our friendship. Spotty recordkeeping aside, I am positive that there is no standing treaty, but rather formerly existing treaties enacted long ago by incarnations of Natopia and Antica that both no longer exist.

This is true, the current government of Natopia has very few formal treaties. We would be delighted to sign a new one.

We could also perform a good ol' recwar where one of us invades the other, and in the end, everything is back to norma and as it should be, like in an episode of Leave it to Beaver.

I suppose that would not violate our official proclamation of neutrality, I am really not into recwars anymore lol.

How about just a strong treaty of friendship and cooperation and we all visit each others' forums often?

Yeah, recwars aren't as fun as they used to be.

Treaty of Friendship between the Antican Commonwealth and the Bovic Empire of Natopia

WHEREAS the BOVIC EMPIRE OF NATOPIA and the ANTICAN COMMONWEALTH wish to establish peaceful and friendly relations based upon mutual respect and agree to establish an official framework for the facilitation of continued dialogue and cooperation,

both ratifying parties agree to the following:

FIRST, that proper channels be established between the two parties' governing bodies responsible for civil external affairs, either directly by the official responsible for the operation of said body or by a properly accredited diplomat. In the case of the Bovic Empire of Natopia, the responsible body would be the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the case of the Antican Commonwealth, it would be the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

SECOND, that both parties endeavor to peacefully resolve any issues which may occur to estrange them, and that if should this prove impossible by normal channels, then through the arbitration of a neutral third party.

THIRD, that both parties respect the diplomatic position of the other in regards to the recognition of and relations with other parties.

FOURTH, that both parties respect the integrity of public spaces -- real, virtual, or imaginary -- claimed by the other party.

FIFTH, that neither party shall engage in nor actively sponsor, whether directly or indirectly, any act of aggression against the other except for when both parties have agreed by mutual consent that it is the appropriate course of action.

AND that this treaty be considered perpetually in full force immediately upon its ratification by both parties.

AND that an advanced notice of four weeks be made should a one party wish to annul this treaty, unless both parties are in mutual agreement or the other party has become defunct.

This seems to be something popular going on with Antican diplomacy right now. Maybe because I keep proposing it.
