So, that federal election. Exciting stuff, aye? Looks like we're going to have as much fun with a hung parliament as the British, except with the lower house decided by five individuals instead of a minor party (Greens will have Senate, but that doesn't give them the power to make the PM)

Yeah our parliament is pretty hung at the moment. I think Julia will lead a minority government. I am tipping a new election late '11 or early 12.

The Greens and the ex green wilkie have gone with the ALP. Its still up to the three country independents to decide who shall form government.

The independents might make their choice tomorrow. They are tipped to go with labor.

Katter has sided with the Liberals
Windsor and Oakeshott with Labor.
We will have a minority Labor government. Regardless of the independents desire to serve 3 years, there will be an election very soon.

You really think that? I think it's strongly in the independents interest to wait it out; particularly since two of them need to prove to their constituents that backing Labor was the right choice. Gillard needs the time to prove she can govern well; and the greens will surely want to wait to get their guys in the Senate; so I expect, even if not three years, a while until the next election.
